Rio de Janeiro –
Ronaldinho was in grief. His mother, Dona Miguelina, reportedly died at the age of 71 as a result of COVID-19.
This sad news came from Brazil and Peru, one of which was published by America Station, Peru’s television network. Dona Miguelina is reported to have breathed her last several hours ago.
“Ronaldinho Gauco: The mother of the former footballer died of COVID-19,” reads the headline.
Dona Miguelina was indeed critical at the end of 2020. The mother of the former Brazilian footballer had tested positive for COVID-19.
Ronaldinho himself announced it at that time. The former Gremio player, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona, AC Milan also asked for prayer assistance.
“My dear friend, my mother is suffering from Covid and we are all struggling to treat her. She is in an intensive care center, receiving all the treatment. I thank you for all your prayers, positive energy and love. Strong mother,” Ronaldinho wrote on Twitter.
Now, the mother has passed away. Even so, there has been no official statement from the family.
Ronaldinho has had a tough year lately. He was jailed for a case of a fake passport, then contracted COVID-19 too, before now the corona virus reportedly claimed his mother’s life.
Be brave, Ronaldinho!
