Ronnie Fernández ignored Escobar and angered the La U bench

During La U’s match against Audax Italiano, striker Ronnie Fernández completely ignored Santiago Escobar’s order and infuriated the blue bench.

University of Chile fell last Friday against Audax Italiano in a pending duel on the 11th date of National Championshipa result that ended up burying the process of santiago escobar in the blues.

The ‘coffee grower’ coach added his sixth defeat in eleven games with La U and, with the team just 2 points from direct relegation, he said goodbye with a meager campaign.

But the problems for Escobar were experienced even on the field and, as shown in the other chamber of TNT Sports, they had the striker Ronnie Fernandez as protagonist.

The attacker suffered physical problems and left the field of Elías Figueroa de Valparaíso at the end of the match, but his discomfort began around the 65th minute.

There, the medical body led by Joseph Matas He recommended him to leave but, faced with the disbelief and annoyance of Escobar and company, the striker wanted to continue on the field.

“Let him wait, because he doesn’t want to go out. He doesn’t want to go out… Ronnie ”, the doctor of the blues started commenting. “Tell him no, because we are taking a risk! He will be angry if they change him, but…” Matas added later.

Faced with this situation, the coach asked Ronnie Fernández if he was alright and, behind the cardboard, yelled “Ronnie, think of you”, but the striker’s response was the same and he continued to stretch to ease the pain.

“Look, he doesn’t want to go out. Notice that she is running slow”was the last thing José Matas said before closing the issue.

One more example of the little weight that Escobar had in La U and, in the long run, also influenced his departure from the blues.

It is worth remembering that Universidad de Chile will play again this Saturday, May 7, when it receives one of the tournament’s bottom teams: Deportes La Serena.
