Dubai : UAE Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, met with Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The meeting took place at a regional summit in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad. He was accompanied by a special delegation from the UAE. Sheikh Mohammed tweeted after the meeting that Prince Tamim was a friend and brother and relatives of the people of Qatar. The Qatari ruler also arrived in Baghdad to attend the summit.
The two discussed security and stability in Iraq. Analyzed the strengthening of diplomatic relations and unity between the countries. The summit will focus on current issues in the Middle East. Sheikh Mohammed said, “May God protect our people and maintain security, stability and prosperity.”
Earlier in the day, Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani met with UAE National Security Adviser Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan. This is the first visit by a high-level delegation from the UAE to Qatar since the siege in June 2017. UAE The Emir of Qatar extended his congratulations to the ruling leadership.
