The Russian diplomat declared to the national press that: “I want to remind you that at the beginning those who asked the United Nations to get involved in this story, it was the Russian side, seeking to influence in one way or another the kyiv regime so that people could get out of the steel mill.

At the same time, Zakharova stressed that Russia has organized humanitarian corridors in cooperation with international organizations, offering medical care to the wounded who left the metallurgical plant.

In this sense, he argued that: “All the wounded receive help, medical assistance, quality aid. This contrasts with the way in which the military and representatives of armed groups treat prisoners of war on the territory of Ukraine.”

The ministerial spokesperson recalled that the Ukrainian ultra-nationalist troops have shot Russian prisoners of war and have spread the images of these terrorist procedures.

For his part, the spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry, Igor Konashénkov, reported that 694 Ukrainian troops laid down their weapons on Tuesday while emphasizing that 29 are seriously injured.

Since last May 16, a total of 959 fighters have surrendered to the Russian army, of which 51 received medical care at the Novoazovsk hospital facility in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
