Agency Autostat published statistics on new car sales in June. It was prepared on the basis of data from Electronic Passport JSC (EPTS), that is, in fact, it reflects the statistics of registrations with the traffic police. As expected, the Russian car market continues to show the strongest decline in sales: last month, only 32,731 new passenger cars found buyers. This is 77% less than in the relatively prosperous June 2021 (then 145,115 cars were purchased), but compared to the recent May anti-record (only 27458 new cars) the result is not bad: plus 19%. Further more?

According to Autostat, almost half (48.5%) of all new car sales in June fell on three brands – the first place was taken by Lada (7848 cars), silver and bronze went to Korean brands Kia (4307) and Hyundai (3687) respectively. But it is possible that in the coming months, Chery (2317 new cars) will also be in the top three, which has already surpassed Renault (2150 cars produced before the company left Russia were sold from warehouses) and took fourth place in June. In the second ten of the ranking, Chinese brands also continue to outperform competitors: Geely (1626 cars) and Haval (1598) took sixth and seventh places, respectively, followed by Toyota (1054), Skoda (962) and Nissan (907).
