[Archyde.com]–A member of the Russian House of Representatives has submitted a bill that imposes up to 10 years’ imprisonment and fines for domestic sanctions against Russia. Interfax reported on the 4th.

It will be established if it passes the parliament and is signed by President Putin. Rep. Pavel Krasheninnikov explained that the aim is to prevent the deterioration of Russia’s economic situation. He pointed out that several domestic companies, including those partially funded by the state, have already refused to collaborate with sanctioned banks and companies for fear of being sanctioned.

He said any act of limiting the rights and freedoms of citizens, corporations and institutions in the country would require criminal liability.

The Russian parliament passed a bill that amended the criminal law in March to impose fines and imprisonment for the spread of disinformation.
