Russian soldiers killed by poisoned Ukrainian pastries

Two soldiers are said to have died and dozens to have fallen ill after eating pastries given to them by Ukrainians near Kharkiv.

“Two invaders are dead and 28 others are in intensive care,” authorities wrote in a Facebook post. The condition of the hospitalized soldiers remains uncertain.




A report on the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense website claims that 500 Russian armed forces soldiers are hospitalized for alcohol poisoning. The source behind the intoxication has not been confirmed.

Russia reportedly characterized the incidents as non-combat casualties, according to Ukrainian forces.
