Salto, a mixed start

Salto is growing, even if the start is still timid. The video-on-demand subscription service of TF1, M6 and France Televisions, which has just celebrated its first three months of existence, would total, according to our information, around 200,000 subscribers at the end of December. A figure neither confirmed nor denied by Salto.

Subscribers have therefore increased from the 100,000 claimed by Salto in November, three weeks after the launch. However, both the 100,000 and the 200,000 include both paid subscribers and those who benefit from the free trial month, valid for any new user. Knowing that the employees of the three parent companies of Salto – a total of 14,000 people – have been offered Salto for six months free of charge.
