Samsung Biologics (CEO John Lim) announced on the 13th that it will participate in the biopharmaceutical exhibition ‘2022 Bio International Convention’.
The Bio International Convention, organized by the Biotechnology Innovation Organization of the United States, is an event held every year in major cities where bio clusters are located in the United States.
This event, which marks its 29th anniversary this year, will be held under the theme of ‘Limitless Together’ in San Diego, USA for four days from the 13th to the 16th (local time). A total of 1,140 companies participated in the exhibition, and more than 15,000 people are expected to visit the exhibition hall during the event period.
Samsung Biologics emphasized that it has installed a large-scale booth (140㎡, 42 pyeong) at this event held offline for the first time in three years after overcoming the aftermath of the pandemic. In particular, it is explained that the theme of this booth was set as ‘Infinite Possibilities’, and Samsung Biologics realized unlimited growth through expansion of three major axes: ▲production capacity, ▲portfolio, and ▲geographical base.
On the wall inside the booth, lighting that detects and responds to the movement of visitors is used to provide a step-by-step view of the end-to-end service of Samsung Biologics, from the initial stage of biopharmaceutical development to commercial production. In addition, through a kiosk and VR (virtual reality) factory tour device, it was possible to experience production facilities in Songdo, Incheon.
In addition, by installing a ‘Sustainability Wall’ in the booth, Samsung Biologics presents activities and plans that minimize environmental impact despite high growth, and expresses its will to lead the sustainable CDMO industry.
In one side of the booth, three meeting rooms were prepared to efficiently respond to the visits of customers and potential customers who visit the booth to discuss partnership.
In addition, a total of 130 Samsung Biologics banners were installed on the street lights of ‘Harbor Drive’, the main road that leads from the San Diego airport to the exhibition hall, focusing on raising the global biopharmaceutical industry and brand awareness in the United States.
In addition, during this exhibition, Samsung Biologics plans to actively exchange with major figures in the biopharmaceutical industry, such as participating as a sponsor of major events along with global big pharmaceutical companies.
On the evening of the 13th, the first day of the event, various events in the booth will be held with the support of the Welcome Reception hosted by Bio International. It is expected that more than 2,500 industry officials will gather at each company’s booth in the exhibition hall to open a forum for information exchange and friendship.
On the second day of the event, Pierre Catignol, Vice President of Samsung Biologics, will participate as a panel in a discussion session to discuss mRNA trends and market strategies.
On the third day, the main banquet event to mark the end of the exhibition will be held as a sponsor along with global Big Pharma such as Genentech. More than 2,000 biopharmaceutical industry figures are expected to gather to discuss business partnerships at the event, which will be held on board a large ship at the USS Midway Museum in San Diego this year. Samsung Biologics plans to expand contact points with potential customers through banners and company introduction videos in the event hall.
