Anyone looking for qualitative in-ear headphones is, cannot ignore the models from Samsung. The Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro are also a serious opponent for the competition: the headphones offer strong active noise cancellation, high-quality sound, a compact design, numerous functions and are protected against water.
We therefore give the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro a buy recommendation. However, users should bear in mind that many extras can only be used in conjunction with a Samsung Galaxy device. The manufacturer relies on very good cooperation between components from its own ecosystem. Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro in-ears – design and features checked
The look of the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro is still similar to the design of the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 and Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro. Very compact and light. The weight per in-ear headphone is only 5.5 grams. For comparison: the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro are 0.8 grams heavier.
However, the shape has been slightly adjusted and the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro should now sit even better in the ear so that the in-ear headphones cannot fall out so easily. This is a particular advantage if they are also used for sports and have to withstand rapid movement.
We rate the battery performance as okay with up to 5 hours with active noise cancellation and up to 8 hours without ANC and without intermediate charging. According to Samsung, the battery life increases to up to 18 or even up to 29 hours with intermediate charging.
The value of up to 11 hours without intermediate charging Samsung Galaxy Buds+ don’t hit them though.
In terms of color selection, music lovers can choose between white, black or purple. Charging is possible via the charging case either with a USB-C cable or alternatively wirelessly with a charging pad.

A strength of the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro is the effective active noise cancellation. The small in-ear headphones register the sound of disturbing background noise and produce counter-noise. This allows users to concentrate completely on the content being played, without having to e.g. B. be distracted by road noise.
We rate the conservation mode as practical. If this function is switched on, the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro in-ears recognize when their wearers start to speak and automatically pause the ANC so that noise is brought to the ear. For a short small talk, users therefore do not have to take out the headphones in order to understand other people. This can be useful, for example, when ordering a to-go coffee.

Most in-ear headphones are only protected against sweat and splash water. This Samsung model, on the other hand, scores with protection against water ingress and has IPX7 certification. The in-ears even survive brief submersion.
Nevertheless, the manufacturer advises against using it on the beach or in the swimming pool. Samsung also emphasizes that only the in-ear headphones are protected against water and that this does not apply to the charging case. The in-ears should therefore be dried when they are wet before they are put back into the case to be charged.
Other special features of the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro:
SmartThings Find: Since the in-ear headphones are small, they sit unobtrusively in the ear. However, due to their compact size, they can also be easily lost. We therefore rate the SmartThings Find function as practical. Users can display the last location of the in-ears on a map. These do not have to be in the charging case. However, the necessary Smarthings App only available on Samsung Galaxy devices running Android 8 or higher.
If desired, users can also specify in the application that they should be automatically informed by smartphone when they move away from their Galaxy Buds 2.
Hi-Fi 24bit Audio & 360 Grad Audio: With the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, users enjoy high-fidelity sound. As a result, content is reproduced particularly precisely and in great detail. But this function is also only available on Galaxy devices, since the sound is encoded and transmitted via the manufacturer’s Samsung Seamless Codec.
In addition, 360-degree audio (Dolby Atmos) is supported so that music lovers can fully immerse themselves in the content. This feature can also only be used via Samsung Galaxy components.
Auto switch function: The Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro in-ear headphones automatically detect which device they need to be connected to. For example, users are watching a film on a tablet in connection with the Buds 2 Pro and the smartphone rings, the in-ears automatically switch to the cell phone so that users can answer the call.
