Yesterday was very rich in new smartphones. Chinese brands presented their news Realme a Redmi, but the Korean Samsung was not left behind either. He showed the world another successor of his durable Xcover series with serial number 5. And he is a real armor. However, such a surprise does not happen, as most of the parameters and several Xcover print images have already escaped in previous days.
Samsung Galaxy Xcover 5: tiny display and replaceable battery
Introduced novelty is a phone created for discomfort. It meets IP68 protection, as well as the military standard MIL-STD810H. This means that you can sink it to a depth of 1 meter for 30 minutes, or expose it to temperature fluctuations and unpredictable falls from a height of up to 1.5 meters. The rubberized body with shock absorbers in the corners testifies to the fact that this phone will last something.
Despite its robust construction, the Galaxy Xcover 5 is quite a wren; has physical dimensions of 147.1 × 71.6 × 9.2 mm. The display, which has only a 5.3 ”diagonally, carries its part on this. Surprisingly, this is an LCD panel that does not dazzle too much with low HD + resolution.

The red-bordered button on the right side cannot read fingerprints, but it is a universal Xcover Key button for invoking various actions – starting the radio, or any application.
The heart of the Galaxy Xcover 5 is the Exynos 850 chipset, which relies on 4 GB of RAM. The internal memory with a capacity of 64 GB is used for data storage, the manufacturer does not mention the support of memory cards. Surprisingly, the main camera has only one lens, behind which hides a 16Mpx sensor. The phone is powered by a battery with a capacity of 3,000 mAh, which can be replaced by the user. This is a relatively large rarity in the world of today’s smartphones.
The battery is charged by either the USB-C port or a pair of pins on the bottom, for which Samsung supplies a special charging cradle. The phone will be available with one or two SIM slots, and it also has support for mobile payments via NFC.
