It’s the eternal nerd question: Which superhero is the coolest, fastest, strongest and best of all? This game has now become too Samuel L. Jackson admitted – and he should know: As Nick Fury, he is an integral part of the Marvel cinema universe. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he was asked who his Favorite character from the “Avengers” series. The answer comes as a surprise.
After the acting star replies with “Nick Fury” in a joke and wants to declare his own character to be the coolest “Avenger”, he suddenly answers surprisingly: Black Widow. The elegant Secret agent, who also fights under Nick Fury as part of the “Avengers” and has been played by Scarlett Johansson since 2010, apparently has done it to the actor.
Nick Fury & Black Widow: Two heroes without superpowers
Unfortunately, Jackson does not provide a reason for his choice. The actor is with Robert Downey Jr. in the role of Tony Stark the longest standing “Avengers” member: Both made their debut in their roles in the first movie of the Marvel Universe “Iron Man” in 2008. The sequel “Iron Man 2” then brought Black Widow into play in 2010. The pretty Russian woman, the middle-class Natasha Romanoff means, smuggled his way into Tony Stark for Nick Fury and the secret service SHIELD and was supposed to monitor him for Fury.
In 2012, Fury and Romanoff returned for the first Marvel crossover “The Avengers “back. What unites both characters: Compared to superheroes like the Hulk, Thor or Captain America they have no superpowers whatsoever and unlike Iron Man or Hawkeye, they don’t have any special high-tech equipment. Accordingly, they both played a major role in 2014 in “The Return of the First Avenger” alongside Captain America. The film then tried to go more in the direction of a political thriller. In 2015 both returned together for “Avengers: Age of Ultron”, but consequently had significantly smaller parts in the fantasy action spectacle.
Black Widow with its own film: What takes a long time …
After Johansson again in “The First Avenger: Civil War “had a big role, she and Jackson only reappeared in the two-part series” Avengers: Infinity War “and” Avengers: Endgame “. For Johansson the Marvel era seemed to end there: Your role was sacrificed in “Endgame” in the fight against the space villain Thanos. Samuel L. Jackson, on the other hand, played in two more Marvel films in 2019: He fought alongside “Captain Marvel” as a young Nick Fury, before he played the experienced SHIELD director again in “Spider-Man: Far From Home” gave.
But Johansson also returns to the screen. Your own solo film, which is supposed to deal with the events between “Civil War” and “Infinity War”, would actually have hit German cinemas on April 30th. But in the course of the global corona pandemic, the film had to be postponed. The German cinema release of “Black Widow” is now for the 5. November 2020 scheduled. You can see the trailer here:
