Saudi businessman wins special ticket bid
A Saudi Arabian businessman won a bid of $2.66 million (approximately 340 million yen) for a special ticket for a friendly match between Portuguese forward Ronald and Argentinian forward Messi.
The match will be held in Riyadh on the 19th. The Saudi joint team of Arnasr and Al-Hilal, joined by Ronald, and Messi’s Paris Saint-Germain (France) will battle. Tickets also include benefits such as attending the ceremony after the match, entering the dressing room, and meeting both players.
Proceeds will be donated to charity, but could be accused of Saudi “sportswashing”. (Archyde.com = Kyodo)
