School of Medicine received Taiwanese vaccines for phase 3 studies

The vaccines made by Medigen Vaccine Biologics (MVB) against the Covid-19 were sent to the country by Taiwan and will be used to initiate phase 3 studies of this biological.

According to preliminary data, these vaccines would be 99.8% effective, according to studies conducted in phase 2, the UNA reported.

The biologicals arrived in the country on Friday night. This is the first time that Paraguay will join the process of developing a vaccine against Covid-19.

These studies will be carried out in the recruitment centers of the Hospital de Clínicas de San Lorenzo and in the Fundación Tesãi del Alto Paraná.

Taiwan approved the emergency use of the medical vaccine and from August 23 began to immunize its population with this biological, starting with the president of the Asian country, Tsai Ing-wen.

To date, there are more than 300,000 people who have received their first dose of Medigen in Taiwan.
