The second women’s downhill training in Lake Louise, scheduled for Wednesday, has been canceled. The reason is the current weather situation and the forecast for the day. Another training session is scheduled for Thursday, before two downhill runs and a Super-G follow on Friday.
In the first practice session on Tuesday, the Italian Sofia Goggia was the fastest, while Christina Ager was the best Austrian in eighth place on the soggy track. “That was okay, but only the first training session and therefore doesn’t say too much,” said Ager and reacted cautiously to her best time. “I’m looking forward to the races, the shape is right.”
Schmidhofer makes a comeback
Ramona Siebenhofer, Christine Scheyer, Mirjam Puchner and Nadine Fest landed in ranks ten to 13. Nicole Schmidhofer finished 46th on her comeback, 5.37 seconds back.
“You can’t choose much that is more difficult if you want to try it again on a racetrack,” said Schmidhofer. “Poor visibility, unbelievable piste – you wouldn’t normally ski there.” “If it doesn’t swell today, it should never swell again.”
