Since 2019, Singaporean Calvin Chow has been photographing the shores of Jakarta, where concrete walls have been erected to stem rising waters. Through his series The blindness of the sea, it immortalizes the consequences of global warming on the Indonesian capital, a third of which should be submerged in 2050. 32 kilometers of wall and 17 artificial islands are under construction to develop tourism and inevitably change the appearance of the city.
