Sergio Fajardo also recuses the Comptroller’s Office in the Hidroituango case

The former governor of Antioquia and presidential candidate, Sergio Fajardo, filed a challenge against the comptroller general, Carlos Felipe Córdoba, to decide, in turn, on the challenge presented by María Eugenia Ramos Villa, within the process of fiscal responsibility that determined serious guilt to 26 people and companies for the alleged detriment of $ 4.3 billion in Hidroituango.

Earlier this Wednesday it was known that the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation denied Ramos Villa’s recusal against that body and the Office of the Comptroller General of the Nation for allegedly not giving guarantees in the fiscal responsibility process.

With this decision, the supervisory body allowed the terms of the process to be resumed, which had been suspended since the end of last October, and re-activated the countdown in the face of a second instance ruling against the 26 implicated.

The controller knows that he is unable to decide, and I do not rule out that it was on purpose. Without me being a lawyer, it is hard for me to believe that he was so naive as not to know that a public opinion on the case, in which he took sides, prevented him from acting as a prosecutor, ”said Fajardo.

He added that he will exhaust whatever resources he has “To show that the Comptroller’s performance is not correct. We already explained the inconsistencies and errors in that process. I continue with all the tranquility and the same pedagogical disposition to explain the responsibility that I have and we will continue on that path ”.

This challenge, adds the appeal presented by Fajardo, It must be sent to the Civil Service and Consultation Room of the State Council.
