Sergio Perez “A little problem with engine reliability in FP2” / Red Bull Racing F1 Singapore GP Friday free run[F1-Gate.com]

Sergio Perez (Red Bull Racing) finished the first day of the 2022 F1 Round 17 Singapore Grand Prix in 9th place.

In FP2 Sergio Perez had some trouble shooting. Perez, who entered the course for the second time on soft tires, marked his personal best in sector 1, but lost time in the middle sector, and as a result, interrupted his attack. He returned to the garage to make further set-up changes.

Sergio Perez entered the course with a different set of soft tires in the final stage, but could not improve the time and finished FP2 in 9th place. His FP2 best time was 1:43.906, slightly behind the soft tire time in FP1.

“We lost a bit of track time in FP2. We had a bit of a reliability issue with the engine and made some changes to the set-up, so we have a lot of information to look at tonight. The most informative of them all. I will pick and choose and do my best,” said Sergio Perez.

“In FP1 I felt more comfortable in the car and the times were better, so I think we have some good data to look at. We expected Mercedes and Ferrari to be strong. We’ll see what we can do when we get to qualifying tomorrow. Tomorrow will be an interesting day.”
