The seventh suspected case of coronavirus infection in Portugal, sent to Hospital Dona Estefânia, in Lisbon, was negative after laboratory tests by the National Institute of Health Dr. Ricardo Jorge (INSA), with two negative biological samples, informed the Directorate-General of Health (DGS) in a statement.
It is a child returned from China, who was referred to the Hospital Dona Estefânia, in Lisbon. This health unit is the pediatric referral hospital for these situations.
DGS stressed at the beginning of the afternoon that the child would be subjected to the virus screening tests, being admitted to the pediatric care unit and that samples will be collected for analysis by the National Institute of Health Dr. Ricardo Jorge.
It should be remembered that this is the seventh suspected case of infection with a new coronavirus, and all the previous ones had a negative result. The group of 20 Portuguese from Macau is expected to come out of isolation this Saturday, February 15, after two weeks interned at Hospital Pulido Valente.
