A severe accident with dead and wounded closed the road Ruse-Byala, near the junction for the village of Trastenik. This was announced by the regional directorate of the Ministry of Interior in the Danube town.
The signal was given at 14.25. Two cars collided head-on. Police, ambulance and fire brigades were immediately dispatched to the scene.
The driver of one of the cars died on the spot in the accident. The driver of the other car was taken out of the vehicle by firefighters and taken by ambulance to a hospital in Ruse.
“He has polytrauma and is life-threatening,” the ambulance explained.
Due to the accident, the traffic on the main road was closed. A detour route has been organized through the town of Dve Mogili and the village of Ivanovo.
An inspection and clarification of the causes of the accident is forthcoming.
