[北京 12日 ロイター] – A hacker has appeared who claims to have obtained the personal information of 48.5 million users of a new coronavirus countermeasure application operated by the city of Shanghai in China. This is the second information leak incident in Shanghai in just over a month.

The hacker, whose user name is “XJP,” posted on the hacker forum “Breach Forums” on the 10th that he would sell the data for $4,000. We presented a sample of data that included phone numbers, names, ID numbers, and health code status for 47 people.

Of the 47 people contacted by Archyde.com, 11 confirmed that the details on the sample were correct, but two said they had the wrong identification number. Archyde.com was unable to further confirm the hacker’s claims.

The app Zuishinsu was introduced in early 2020 by the city of Shanghai, which has a population of 25 million, as a countermeasure against the coronavirus. It collects movement data and gives users a red, yellow, or green rating depending on how likely they are to have the virus. Must be used by all residents and visitors.

Just last month, a hacker claimed to have obtained 23 terabytes of personal information about one billion Chinese from Shanghai police.
