New Delhi: The 15-member Indian squad for the Twenty20 World Cup has been unveiled. Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Shardul Thakur has been named in the Indian squad for the tournament, which runs from November 17 to 14.
Shardul has been named in the squad to replace Akshar Patel. Shardul was previously a reserve player in the team. With this, Akshar Patel was shifted to the reserve ranks. Shreyas Iyer and Deepak Chahar are the other reserve players.
The only change in the team is the inclusion of Shardul instead of Akshar. At the same time, Mumbai Indians have retained Hardik Pandya, who is worried about his form and bowling ability. In a press release on the change of squad, the BCCI released the names of the eight players who will coach the Indian team in the tournament.
Avesh Khan, Umran Malik, Hershel Patel, Lukhman Meriwala, Venkatesh Iyer, Khan Sharma, Shahbaz Nadeem, K. Gautam will be with the team. Chennai Super Kings skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni will continue as the team’s advisor.
