Shazam 2: the next DC Comics film celebrates the end of its shooting with a making-of

News culture Shazam 2: the next DC Comics film celebrates the end of its shooting with a making-of

A few years after Shazam, DC Comics is ready to talk about its sequel, soberly titled Shazam Fury of the Gods (but that we can call Shazam 2, between us). The DC Fandome 2021 was the opportunity to deliver a new video with a very specific purpose.

Obviously satisfied with his first Shazam, DC Comics and Warner Bros. have big plans for the franchise and the DC Fandome 2021 served to show them off as it should. First of all, the digital event opened its doors with Black Adam, which is none other than the evil version of Shazam embodied by… The Rock. A darker and eagerly awaited feature film for this supervillain drawing his powers from six formidable Egyptian Gods.

End clap for Shazam 2

Then there is obviously Shazam 2, or rather, should we say Shazam Fury of the Gods which will therefore be the direct sequel to the film released in 2019. We will once again find Zachary Levi as the adult superhero, while his rejuvenated version (those who have seen the movie know what it’s all about) will still be played by Asher Angel.

Alas, apart from a part of the cast which will be back, we do not yet know very well the plot of this project, the shooting of which has just been purchased. In a video celebrating precisely this culmination, we can see many mythological creatures that our protagonists will face… but by whom are they sent, and why, that’s another story.

The film is scheduled for 2023, there is still some work to be done on the part of the production and it will be necessary to be patient before seeing what it is all about. In any case, it is the fourteenth film in the DC Comics Extended Universe.
