Sheikh Maktoum Deputy Prime Minister; Changes in the UAE Cabinet

Dubai | Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, has been appointed UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai by the UAE Minister of Finance and Deputy Prime Minister. The announcement was made on Twitter.

Other changes in the cabinet: Mohammed bin Hadi al-Husseini has been appointed Minister of State for Economic Affairs. He will succeed Obaid Al Thayer. Abdullah bin Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi will be the new Minister of Justice. Dr. Abdurrahman Al Awar will take over as Minister of Human Resources and Emirati. Mariam al-Muhairi has been appointed Minister of Climate Change and Environment. Abdullah bin Muhair al-Kitbi will serve as Minister of State for the Federal Supreme Council.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, welcomed the appointment of Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance. Sheikh Mohammed added that the UAE is adopting a new approach to federal government jobs for the next 50 years.
