The accident happened in the Konkordia area. The tour started in the Jungfraujoch area with the aim of reaching the Konkordia hut, said a police spokesman for the newspaper.

“For reasons that have not yet been clarified, a snow bridge collapsed on the way, whereupon the woman fell into a crevasse,” he said.

Shortly before 3 p.m., the ski group made an emergency call. Nevertheless, they continued to try to free their companion from her desperate situation. With success!

The police spokesman: “When the rescue workers arrived at the scene of the accident, the casualty was already on the surface.”

The woman, who lives in Switzerland, was flown to a hospital by the mountain rescue service. More details about her injuries and how the accident happened are not yet known.
