Sky secures TV rights for the Bundesliga

The hitherto valid contract would have expired at the end of the 2021/22 season. It is rumored that Sky is having the rights cost around 40 million euros per season. The Bundesliga declared that the extension of the TV contract was unanimously decided at a club conference. The rights from the 2022/23 season were tendered on May 4th.

As usual, SALZBURG24 reports on every bull game in LIVETICKER.

Term extended by four years

In addition, due to the current license agreement with Sky, there was a unilateral option for the Bundesliga to extend the current term by four more years. After evaluating the offers received on time, the decision was made to draw options, the league explained.

This means that every Bundesliga game will also be shown live and in full on Sky in the 2022/23 to 2025/26 seasons. In addition, four live games per season will be freely accessible.

Bundesliga on live TV only on Sky

Bundesliga board chairman Christian Ebenbauer was pleased about the further cooperation with the pay-TV partner. “In the last year and a half in particular, we have seen how important it is to have, maintain and develop well-functioning and reliable partnerships.”

Former Austrian national defender Martin Stranzl and ex-Admira trainer Klaus Schmidt are new to the Sky team of experts as “analysis experts” on the tactical touchscreen for the Champions League. Andreas Herzog, who is now Admira trainer, and now Austria’s sports director Manuel Ortlechner have changed sides.
