That is eternal, to some extent it has become a cliché, but every time it appears again and again. And if five years ago the question still arose why you have a smart watch on your hand, today they are more likely to be interested in a specific model. Ever since the introduction of the Galaxy S3 Frontier back in 2016, I’ve grown fond of this shape, size, and watch feel. The only drawback of those watches for me was the strap, it was silicone, and there was a chronic lack of time to find a metal one. My friend, for example, mastered the purchase of such straps on AliExpress, bought several at once, because it was cheap and cheerful. And I didn’t worry at all if some didn’t fit, the cost redeemed everything else. At the same time, several straps turned out to be very cool in appearance, although the sensations, of course, left much to be desired. Formally, these old Frontiers still work, and in them most of the basic, necessary functions have not changed in any way.

The love for metal straps and the shape of the Frontier eventually led me to the Galaxy Watch 3, the watch fits perfectly on the hand, I got used to it almost instantly.

What bribed me in this watch is that they can measure pressure outside the home. When you need to understand what is happening with the body, this is a unique function. There is only one inconvenience – from time to time you need to update the calibration of the watch so that it works correctly. On the other hand, it is useful to carry out calibration, you get accurate data. For about a few months I checked the data from the watch with a conventional tonometer, and only after I was convinced that they were the same plus or minus, there were no obvious failures, I began to trust the watch.

It is clear that the function of measuring the pressure of young people will not attract, but old people in the prime of life, such as me, may be pleased with it. For me, smart watches have become an indispensable and inconspicuous companion, and I will not talk about notifications, the usefulness of seeing a call on the screen and, if necessary, you can reject it. Rather, I want to dwell on the habits that I have developed and entered my life somehow imperceptibly, in passing.

I have a very complex rhythm of life, the daily routine was constantly breaking down due to endless flights, now there are much fewer of them, and in 2022 life looks calmer. If earlier I could explain that I sleep little and in short snatches, as a way of life, now there are no such excuses. But the most important thing is that I taught myself to look at how I sleep, how much quality sleep it is. And at the same time evaluate how I rested, managed to gain strength or not. We can say that he began to study his habits and habits.

Very quickly I came across several behavioral habits that confused me. A series in bed from any screen, and my sleep becomes restless, I rest much worse. And no matter what I watch – a comedy, an action movie or a documentary, the result is always the same. The situation is a little better with reading news and websites, but they also affect the quality of sleep. I read about it many times in different sources and boldly let it go past my ears, and then I suddenly felt it on myself, and all thanks to the fact that I began to look at exactly how I sleep, to focus on this.

The clock itself, like any other tool, will not be able to do something for you, you need additional motivation on your part, for example, the desire to know yourself better. And here is a wealth of information that you can use or ignore. For example, does your blood pressure rise or fall after drinking sweet soda? How long do you see changes? You can safely ignore these questions and their answers, but for some of you, they will just make you feel a little better when you understand your reactions to certain things.

Another point is a sedentary lifestyle. I walk 15-20 thousand steps a day, which is not enough, I used to take care of 20-30 thousand, since there was more time, now I am mired in work.

About the fact that with a smart watch that analyzes your physical activity, there is a motivation to walk, I wrote repeatedly, there was even a detailed material on this topic. And such motivation makes you plan your day in such a way that there is always time to walk around or do something outdoors, not to sit in a chair. Sometimes I feel that I am chained to the computer, cases and news are pouring in, you need to quickly scatter them in places, like in Tetris, before you fall asleep. But you need to form other habits, otherwise it will be completely sad.

The clock has become a very complex instrument that can measure several extremely important parameters. You just need to set them up and create your own motivation to do all this. Do you know what is the funniest thing about this story? I do not pay attention to all these functions at all, they just exist on their own, sometimes I look at the watch or at what they offer me. But they do not take time, they are built into my daily life. And they even partially save time by not having to look at what is happening on the smartphone, there are enough notifications on the clock.

I don’t remember the last time I wore a mechanical watch, it seems I haven’t taken it out for several years. Watches on both hands look ridiculous, but someone wears them like this: smart on one hand, prestigious mechanics on the other. In the summer it looks especially strange, then a sports bracelet and an ordinary watch are better. Or a separate device for measuring parameters and to them a regular watch on the other hand.

Smart watches started as a kind of pampering, but life has proven that they have many uses, and the most important of them is the ability to digitize your life, the most important parameters are how often you move, how you sleep, how nervous you are, finally. And it’s quite an exciting journey for anyone. Even if you are self-deceiving and say that you know yourself well, most likely this is definitely not true. And the smart watch will tell you this, but then it depends on you what to do with this knowledge – to ignore or make an attempt to correct the situation. It is important to understand that we have a very, very powerful tool, which is often simply not used, but they look at the time or choose beautiful dials.
