NAfter the very spring-like Saturday, Germany expects a cold snap with snow or sleet in some regions at the beginning of summer on Sunday. “There was no such advance in the past winter,” said Sebastian Altnau from the German Weather Service (DWD) in Offenbach on Saturday. So no time for summer tires yet: in the low mountain ranges, and later also in the Alpine region, winter road conditions threaten in higher locations on Sunday. “With a moderate north to northeast wind, sometimes in gusts of wind, 4 to 11 degrees feel noticeably colder,” explained Altnau.
In the Alps it can still snow a little on Monday. Sleet or snow showers threaten in the northwest. In between, the sun can show up in a wide streak. In view of the light night frost and daily highs between 0 and 8 degrees, Altnau recommends “taking the winter jacket out of the closet again”.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, southern Germany in particular will enjoy a lot of sunshine again. The north, however, is covered in more clouds – sometimes with a little rain. The maximum values remain largely single-digit. They can only have two digits in the west and southwest. In the nights it gets frosty off the coast again.
