“Something has to be done”

For a month, the inhabitants of Sauvenière (Gembloux) have been unable to take it anymore. Each weather report has become an anguish. In June, some had to put on their boots and take their raclettes seven times. Rue Joseph Suars, at the head of the peloton, paid the price.

Located in a low to medium flood hazard zone, the district suffered from floods and mudslides since 2008. The residents have alerted the authorities, without seeing any real changes.

Fortunately, the municipal councilor Marie-Paule Lengelé took matters in hand. But for the local alderman of Works, “to say that there is an immobility of the City is to put it on a bad trial”: here is his reaction.
