Sony patented a controller for PlayStation VR with finger tracking – Gambling

-

The media discovered a fresh patent Sony for a VR controller that monitors the position of the fingers using special sensors.

Something similar is implemented in the Valve Index and it seems to be actively used in Half-Life: Alyx. A similar feature is required for a deeper immersion in the virtual world, helping to better interact with the environment.

Perhaps the function will be used in the next generation of PlayStation VR, which will be released after the release of PlayStation 5.
