To play PS4 and PS5 games through PS Remote Play on iPhone, it is now possible to invest in an official accessory offered by Sony: the Backbone One – PlayStation Edition.

The PS Remote Play mobile app lets you stream PS4 and PS5 games whether you’re at home or hundreds of miles away, provided you have a strong internet connection. But to enjoy it in the best conditions, the smartphone is not enough: you need a suitable controller.

It is to meet this need that Sony has partnered with the Backbone brand to offer its controller Backbone One – PlayStation Editionan accessory that can very quickly become essential for fans of PS Remote Play.

A Backbone controller from Sony

Small detail that is important: the Backbone One – PlayStation Edition is only compatible with iPhones. If you play on Android, it is possible for you to orient yourself towards the Backone One for Android, which does not display the colors of the PS5. If you have an Apple terminal, then you can use the controller both to play via PS Remote Play and to enjoy other games, since Sony explains that its use is not limited solely to this service.

If the design of this accessory is reminiscent of that of the DualSense, the PS5 controller, many players have noticed asymmetric joysticks, and it’s not to everyone’s taste. On our side, this controller does not fail to make us think of the Razer Kishi V2 of which it takes the principle.

The controller does not include a battery since it is powered directly by iPhone. It can modulate its size depending on the terminal and it has a Lightning connector.

What price for the Backbone One – PlayStation Edition?

The Backbone One – PlayStation Edition is already available for sale on the Backbone website, at the price of 119,99 euros. This accessory comes with a 3-month trial at Discord Nitro and a 1-month trial at Apple Arcade.
