Sony has tried its best to make the TV work out of the box in standard or movie mode on new products, reducing the trouble of setting as much as possible for users. Sony, meanwhile, has tweaked the design, including building the tweeter into the bezel on certain models. In addition, they have prepared a new set of brackets for most of the new machines, which can provide users with more flexibility when configuring external speakers for the TV.
The new Bravia XR TV’s system also adds gaming and energy saving control panels, making it easy for users to find various options. In the game part, you can quickly adjust the screen size, black balance, variable update rate, motion blur, etc. Fans of FPS works can also turn on the auxiliary crosshair. There will be various power-saving options in the energy-saving panel, and the official will also give suggestions, and introduce an incentive mechanism (a small tree that will grow) to attract users to save energy.
Although the official price of each new model has not yet been announced, the X90L is estimated to be the cheapest one. It is defined as the entry-level product of the Bravia XR series, the successor to last year’s X90K. The X90L uses a full-matrix LED panel and supports the new version of Clear Image technology, which can reduce noise and blur during upscaling. Sony claims that the number of light control zones has increased by 60% compared with the past, and the brightness has increased by 30%. In addition, this device has also upgraded the frame material from plastic to aluminum, and has a 98-inch model, which is the largest in this batch of new products.
Then there are two OLED TVs, A80L and A95L, both of which have very good contrast performance, and the editor of the main website believes that they are better than rivals such as LG C2 in preserving shadow details. According to official statements, the A95L with QD-OLED panel is twice as bright as the 2022 model. That is to say, except for a few of the highest-end competing products, the brightness of the A95L has basically not lost to LED TVs.
Finally, there are X93L and X95L, two Mini LED TVs with the highest positioning. The peak brightness of the two is similar, mainly because X95L has 30% more partitions, while X93L does not support Clear Image. Sony put them next to a professional monitor on site for comparison. After seeing them, colleagues at the main station thought that the colors of the new products were accurate and the details were very rich. In some scenes, the X93L without Clear Image will show a more obvious graininess at the beginning.
The listing information of Sony 2023 Bravia XR TV in Hong Kong and Taiwan has yet to be confirmed, but I believe the manufacturer should not let everyone wait too long.
