SOS to North Korea and Iran… How much is Russia's power loss?

As the Ukrainian war has turned into a war of attrition, Russia is said to have tried to provide ammunition and drones to North Korea and Iran, respectively.

In a situation where procurement of munitions is not easy due to sanctions, what is the extent of Russia’s power loss, so that it is expanding its hands with these countries that are marginalized from the international community?

The New York Times reported a few days ago that Russia was buying millions of missiles and shells from North Korea.

The US Department of Defense also confirmed this.

“Russia has approached North Korea to request ammunition. We cannot provide further details at this time, but it does show the current state of affairs of Russia’s supply and (combat) sustaining capabilities in relation to the Ukraine war.”

While Russia agreed to import attack drones from Iran, the first shipments were delivered last month, and it is known that China was rejected.

Analysts say that Russia’s handshake with North Korea and Iran is due to difficulties in procurement of military equipment amid international sanctions.

According to data from Ukrainian news agency, which collects real-time damage to Russian troops, Russia’s power loss is snowballing more than six months after the invasion of Ukraine.

Ukrainian forces shot down or useless drones at close to 1,000, and tank losses were estimated at more than 2,000.

However, there is a difference depending on the method of counting, as one site that identifies the extent of damage through photos and videos announced that the damage was about 120 drones and about 1,000 tanks.

In the case of Russian casualties, Ukraine estimates the number to exceed 50,000, while the United States estimates it to be around 20,000.
