South Korean president denies offensive remarks against US congressmen

South Korean President Yoon Seok-yeol said he did not use profanity with the US Congress. Earlier, on September 21, a video was circulated in the media, in which the leader of Korea, after a conversation with United States President Joe Biden, used swear words, allegedly addressed to the US Congress.

“Undermining the alliance (USA and South Korea.— “uh”) with messages that are not true puts people at great risk,” said Yoon Suk Yeol (quoted from Chosun).

On September 21, the heads of the United States and South Korea met at a fundraising event for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Malaria and Tuberculosis. The leaders of the countries spoke for 48 seconds instead of 30 minutes. Mr. Biden offered to allocate $ 6 billion to the fund. After the meeting, the media published a video where Yoon Suk Yeol apparently spoke obscenely to the American Congress.

The video does not contain profanity, as the recording is not clear, but the subtitles contain swear words. Korean agency Yonhap reports that the president used obscene language in the phrase “if the National Assembly does not approve, how humiliating it will be for Biden”, where the National Assembly is supposedly meant by the US Congress. Reportedly CNNthat was the word “bastards”.
