TASS, March 28. The Spanish national team lost 2-0 to the team of Scotland in the match of the second round of the qualifying tournament for the European Football Championship 2024. The meeting took place on Tuesday.

In another match of group A, the national teams of Georgia and Norway played a draw in Batumi with a score of 1:1. In Group D meetings, the Wales team beat the Latvian team at home (1:0), the Croatians were stronger than the Turkish team (2:0) away. The first place is taken by the Wales team (4 points; 2 matches), followed by the teams of Croatia (4; 2), Turkey (3; 2), Armenia (0; 1) and Latvia (0; 1).

The 2024 European Championship will be held in Germany. The top two teams from each qualifying group qualify for the tournament. The remaining participants in the tournament will be determined by the results of the playoffs of the League of Nations. On February 28, 2022, the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) and the International Football Federation (FIFA) suspended Russian clubs and national teams from participating in international competitions due to the situation in Ukraine.
