Sputnik V vaccine to be licensed; expected arrival of doses at the end of January

At the president’s morning conference Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the Chancellor indicated that the vaccine created by CanSino is about to conclude phase 3 of its development, while the Sputnik V, It is expected that the first doses arrive in Mexico between January 25 and 29.

He commented that this week, the active ingredient for the packaging of the AstraZeneca vaccine will be received, in coordination with a laboratory in Argentina in Mexico, for distribution in the country and “throughout Latin America.”

“The negotiation is in charge of him and his team. These are the numbers: 7 million doses. With 3 million 700 thousand vaccinated. It appears in yellow from January 25 to 29, February and for March, 1 million 200 thousand per week.

“Pfizer outside of Mexico, comes from Belgium authorized; CanSino, for being authorized finishing its phase 3; AstraZeneca, authorized and for starting packaging, final filling; and Sputnik V, for being authorized,” he explained in the National Palace.

Ebrard indicated that in total they are 21 million 394 thousand doses of vaccines agreed and signed, with 14 million 172 thousand 325 vaccinated, which are scheduled for the period, after yesterday it was announced that no new vaccines will be received from Pfizer until March.

He also mentioned that in addition to the vaccines already authorized or in process, the Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (Cofepris) has already authorized Phase 3 of the Cureva immunization, as well as Janssen’s.

“In addition to these vaccines, Cofepris is about to authorize, and has already authorized, Phase 3 of CureVac, from Germany, with the participation of Tec Salud and Novavax from Uuniods States, two phase 3 that are about to receive authorization and are about to import vaccines that need , so that those that are already signed we would have another phase 3 and when they are finished we can access them.

“Janssen has already finished, which is one dose. I point those to them so that we have these four, two in phase 3 and another Janssen that has already finished its phase 3,” he highlighted.
