Square Enix acts on the leaks of the new Tomb Raider game

The company has requested the removal of content that echoed alleged leaked information.

Since the announcement of development of a new Tomb Raiderlittle we have known about what we can expect from the next game starring Lara Croft which is in charge Crystal Dynamicsjust that is being developed with Unreal Engine 5 and that it is destined for the new generation.

However, a few days ago a filtration of various details from a source that assured that the project has the code name ‘Project Jawbreaker’, among many other things that we are not going to echo here until we can confirm the information.

Whether or not what has been recently uncovered is true, it seems that Square Enix has been bothered since, as we read in VGC, you have requested the deletion of this information to people who have echoed her. The best example is what happens with the podcast Last Stand Mediawhich has received a DMCA (rights) request via Patreon.

They have requested the removal of audios from the leakParts of the purportedly leaked script for the new Tomb Raider were read in the audio, but creator Colin Moriarty argues that “the data offered is of general interest“and its disclosure does not imply an offensive act against the franchise, since they only echo the information and have not illegally extracted the data from Crystal Dynamics. The strange thing here is that Square cares to eliminate them, something that some users understand as an acknowledgment that the information is true in some way.

At this point you may ask yourself: how is it that Square Enix does this if it has sold the franchise to Embracer Group? The explanation is that the acquisition agreement remains pending approval of various regulatory bodies, so for now we have to wait to see what new ideas do you have the Swedish conglomerate with the saga.
