The XIII Euromarina Optimist Trophy stomps and does so with 404 registered sailors representing 28 countries. The launching of the regatta organized by the Royal Yacht Club of Torrevieja, scoring for the Optimist Excellence Cup, which will be held from January 22 to 26, took place today at the Club’s facilities, with the presence of the mayor of Torrevieja: Diana Box, Councilor for Youth and Sports, and Rosario Chazarra, 1st Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Tourism, as well as Carlos Torrado, president of the Sailing Federation of the Valencian Community; Patricia and Antonio Quesada, co-directors of Euromarina; José Manuel Pacheco, of Cox Energy; Ana Monsalvo, from SailingCuack; José Antonio Antón, Race Director and Germán Soler, president of RCN Torrevieja who has been accompanied by Andrei Stepanov, Vocal de Vela Ligera.
In the presentation to the media the personalities who have chaired the event have emphasized the growth of the race, with a figure that already exceeds 400 sailors, placing the Torrevejense event among the best in Europe and in the top positions nationwide .
The notoriety and relevance acquired by the Euromarina Optimist Torrevieja regatta obliges a large effort at the logistic level, as Antón has pointed out: “They are 404 sailors and it represents a great movement of personnel and in the club, since about 110 auxiliary boats , in addition to departure and arrival ships will be in the water ”.
For the federative entity, according to Torrado’s words, “the Torrevieja Children’s Sailing Regatta is an important springboard for the future of young sailing promises in the Valencian Community and that is why, from the federation, we want to continue supporting and supporting these regattas to the fullest that contribute to the promotion of grassroots sport, our objective, for that reason we can only be grateful to the Torrevieja nautical for all the work they do to fulfill that objective ”. .
