Stock futures fall, coronavirus cases close to 10,000

The escalating spread of the corona virus shook global markets for another session and dropped risk assets as investors assessed the virus’ current and future damage.

07.44 ET: The British pound rises with the Brexit due today

It is Brexit Day overseas and the UK is leaving the European Union at 6 p.m. More than three and a half years after the Brexit referendum, on Friday at 11 p.m. (GMT).

Britain, which has been a member of the EU since 1973, is ready to leave the bloc with 27 remaining countries.
