The man from Zurich runs to the fan block, takes off his jersey and throws it to the ground. Then he punches the corner post.
A thoughtless gesture
The problem: The midfielder was threatened with a suspension if he received a yellow card. A sword of Damocles that hovers over his head during gameplay. Referee Fedayi San spoiled the party after the goal by flashing a yellow card. It’s Grgic’s eighth booking of the season. So he will miss the decisive Rhone derby against Servette on Sunday (4:30 p.m.) with a suspension.
The player, who went from hero to zero in a few seconds, discreetly disappeared into the dressing room after the game. At the press conference, his coach managed to keep his composure and protect his player. Paolo Tramezzani dodged: «At the moment I mainly remember Anto’s game and his determination. We have to find a solution for Sunday. He is an important element that we will miss.”
A decimated defense
Anto Grgic will really miss the Sittenern in midfield. The Valais back line is severely decimated with injuries to Arian Kabashi, Gaetano Berardi, Wesley and Dimitri Cavaré. The latter only took part in training again on Wednesday on the fringes of the group.
The Valais are not yet safe: If Lucerne wins at FCZ on Sunday, Sion needs at least one point to avoid having to go to the barrage after all.
