FC Basel has the next corona case! One player will test positive on Saturday night. After consulting the cantonal medical service, the entire first team, including staff, was therefore sent to quarantine because the player concerned took part in team training. How long the quarantine will last is not yet known.
As a result, the classic against FC Zurich, which should take place on Sunday afternoon, has to be canceled. As both clubs write on their homepages, the game will be postponed to a later date in accordance with the protection concept of the Swiss Football League.
It is not the first corona case at FCB. Director Samuele Campo would not have been on the match sheet against FCZ because he tested positive. Striker Arthur Cabral and central defender Eray Cömert were infected with the virus weeks ago.
The last meeting of the two clubs was already overshadowed by Corona. Back in mid-July, a large part of the FCZ team was in quarantine, whereupon the Zurich team competed with the U21 team – and lost 4-0.
