Supporters of Myanmar’s Military Coup Rampage, Attack Opponents …


YANGON – Military supporters Myanmar , some armed with knives and clubs, others shooting catapults and throwing stones, attacked opponents of the February 1 coup in Yangon on Thursday (25/2).

Protests against the junta continue in Yangon and various cities in Myanmar.

Myanmar has been in turmoil since the army seized power and detained civilian government leader Aung San Suu Kyi and many of his party leaders.

Protests and strikes have been going on every day for about three weeks.

The students were originally set to rally at the commercial center of Yangon on Thursday. But before many opponents of the coup gathered, about 1,000 military supporters turned up to stage a counter-action in the city center.
