Switzerland has 2,262 new cases of coronavirus in 72 hours


Switzerland has 2262 additional cases of coronavirus on Monday in 72 hours, according to figures from the Federal Office of Public Health (OFSP). Eight additional deaths are deplored and 38 patients have been hospitalized.

During the last 72 hours, the results of 99,573 tests have been transmitted, indicates the FOPH. The positivity rate is 2.27%.

Over the last 14 days, the total number of infections is 13,771, or 159.3 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants. The reproduction rate, which has a delay of ten days, is 0.89. Covid-19 patients occupy 16.70% of available places in intensive care, with an occupancy rate of 72.60%.

A total of 10,711,332 doses of vaccine have been administered and 60.50% of people have already received two doses. Switzerland has so far received 12,517,425 doses of vaccine. Certificates have already been issued for 6,561,117 people vaccinated.

Since the start of the pandemic, 850,679 cases of Covid-19 contamination have been confirmed in the laboratory out of a total of 11,212,163 tests carried out in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. The total number of deaths is 10,751 and the number of people hospitalized is 33,120.

The country also counts 8,434 people in isolation and 5,932 individuals who are part of their contacts have been quarantined.
