Public transport prices in Switzerland will not suddenly increase in the short term. Fares are set in the spring at national transport level, for example the CFF, by Alliance SwissPass and at regional level by fare communities such as Mobilis in the canton of Vaud. The latter are free to set the prices they want, in consultation with the public authorities concerned and the partner transport companies. The rates set in April change in December of the current year. The prices set last spring, which remain stable, will therefore be valid until December 2023. Alliance SwissPass specifies that it is for the moment “impossible to make a forecast” for the following years.
