The Swiss had fun on Sunday afternoon.

The Swiss team had no problem overcoming Belarus on Sunday. Patrick Fischer’s players opened the scoring after only 36 seconds of play by Christoph Bertschy, who exploited a good pressing from Tristan Scherwey and Fabrice Herzog behind the cage (1st, 0-1). If Switzerland had a few minutes of hesitation in the first period, it then easily took the measure of the Belarusian selection.

GE Servette striker Joël Vermin – two goals, one assist – scored 0-2 just before the first break following a shot from Timo Meier (19th). Zurich’s Sven Andrighetto added a third goal from the resumption of a precise shot in the skylight (22nd).

Corvi and Hofmann are having fun

The best success of the afternoon was the work of the duo Enzo Corvi / Grégory Hofmann. The Grison and the Bernese Jura made the Belarusian defense dizzy before Hofmann slipped the puck to the bottom of the empty cage (33rd, 0-4). Great art.

This fourth success of the tournament (12 points) allows the Swiss selection to plan for the quarterfinals which will take place on Thursday, June 3. But it’s time for Great Britain on Tuesday for the last match of the group stage (11:15 am).
