Apple revealed its new family of phones, iPhone 14, during its annual conference, which bears the slogan “Far Out”, where the American company presented a set of updates in the four versions.
And “Apple” kept presenting four versions of its phones to the market with a change of classification. It abandoned the “Mini” version, after the demand for it decreased in the “iPhone 13” version, so this year’s phones come in “iPhone 14” versions. With a 6.1-inch screen, “iPhone 14 Plus” measuring 6.7 inches, “iPhone 14 Pro” measuring 6.1 inches, and “iPhone 14 Pro Max” measuring 6.7 inches.
The “iPhone 14” and “iPhone 14 Plus” versions work with an upgraded version of last year’s “A15 Bionic” processor, in addition to “Super Retina XDR” OLED screens, equipped with advanced display technology “Dolby Vision”, with a high degree of Brightness of 1200 light degrees, according to The official company blog.
The A15 Bionic processor carries six cores, including two for heavy tasks and 4 for normal performance, in addition to a “Neural Engine” processing unit, carrying about 16 cores and 15 billion “transistors”, in addition to new technologies for encoding and decoding visual visual content, and a graphics processor with 5 Cores to deliver 25% faster performance.
The iPhone 14 versions come with a 12-megapixel front camera and AutoFocus technology for the first time, along with a wider F/1.9 lens aperture, allowing more light to pass through, and allowing taking pictures with clear and accurate details, as well as advanced capabilities. For video shooting and Face time calls, even in low light.
This year, Apple provided the two phones with a distinctive imaging experience for the “Pro” phones of the “iPhone 13” family, as it relies on a rear camera with two lenses, one of which is a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens and provides better photography in low light with an F/1.90 lens slot.
The American company also supported its phones with a new imaging processor “Photonic Engine”, which provided a better level of imaging at the level of the front cameras, at a rate of two and a half times better compared to the rear camera of the iPhone 13.
Apple also added the “Crash Detection” feature to protect against shocks, in addition to providing the “iPhone 14” phones with a directional compass feature, as well as a dual accelerometer sensor system, along with a sensor that measures the force of the collision, a feature available in the “Apple Watch Series 8”.
One of the most prominent features of the new phone is the ability to make phone calls and exchange text messages via satellite, which will be useful in emergency conditions, as well as when the user is in places not covered by traditional mobile service networks.
In order for the iPhone 14 phones to provide this feature, “Apple” provided its phones with a software system that enables its users to identify the exact location of the satellite, allowing the user to send a distress message through the new “SOS Emergency via Satellite” service.
Under this service, the user sends his message directly to the satellite, which in turn transmits it to a ground station, which sends it to the emergency service.
The new feature will be available free of charge to iPhone 14 users for two years initially in Canada and the United States.
In the two most advanced versions, “iPhone 14 Pro” and “iPhone 14 Pro Max”, the company has developed its latest technologies, starting with the screen, as it introduced two “LTPS OLED” screens, equipped with its latest “ProMotion Display” technology, which allows the screens of both versions Reaching the screen refresh rate to 120 Hz, in addition to the possibility of reducing it to a level of 1 Hz.
This enabled “Apple” to offer the “Always-On” feature for the first time on its phones, so that its phones can continue to display important data in front of the user, without the need to turn on the screen completely, as well as while preserving battery life, according to Official Apple Blog.
Apple replaced the traditional “notch” design with a design it called “Dynamic Island”, which relies on two pieces located directly in the screen, the first circular bearing the camera and the second oval carrying sensors, such as the “FaceID” fingerprint, the distance sensor and the ambient light sensor.
The new design will allow it to be used to display notifications and provide different experiences based mainly on manipulating the black “Dynamic Island” design so that the user can follow applications and notifications.
As for the processor in the “iPhone 14 Pro” and “iPhone 14 Pro Max” it is the latest Apple processor “A16”, and it carries 16 billion “transistors”, designed with 4 nm technology, and provides 40% faster performance than competing phones, and with 20% less power consumption on the The two cores are dedicated to heavy-duty performance, and uses a third of the power consumed by competing phones.
This processor is powered by a neural unit that can perform 17 trillion operations per second, with 50% stronger performance with gaming graphics, and the new processor is equipped with a display graphics processing unit “Display Engine” to provide the distinctive performance of the new “Dynamic Island” design of the screen.
The imaging experience in the “Pro” versions of the “iPhone 14” phones is one of the aspects that Apple has paid close attention to this year, as the rear cameras of the two phones carry a 48-megapixel main camera, making it the highest rear camera in terms of clarity in the history of iPhone phones, In addition to enjoying the advantages of “Focus Pixels” and merging pixels, and a second 12-megapixel lens for wide-angle photography, while the latter will come with four levels of optical zoom.
The rear camera also offers the feature of optical stabilization “OIS”, in addition to the fact that the imaging sensor is 65% larger than the “iPhone 13 Pro Max” camera, in addition to providing twice the level of illumination available with the camera sensor of last year’s phones.
Apple continues to adopt the “ProRaw” technology, which provides a superior level of image capture with the accuracy of the 48-megapixel main camera, while providing the highest rate of color contrast in images.
Prices for “iPhone 14” start from $ 799, $ 899 for “iPhone 14 Plus”, 999 for “iPhone 14 Pro”, and $ 1,099 for “iPhone 14 Pro Max”, and all phones will be available in the market by September 16, except for “iPhone 14”. iPhone 14 Plus” will be available starting October 7th.
