Breaking: Gyeonggi-do Superintendent Pushes Global Education and Digital Future Initiatives
Gyeonggi-do Superintendent Lim Tae-hee recently stressed the importance of sharing quality educational content globally and fostering future generations into global citizens. This comes as part of a broader initiative to enhance digital education and international cooperation.
International Meeting Highlights Digital Education Policies
According to the Gyeonggi-do Office of Education, Superintendent Lim Tae-hee met with over 30 delegates, including representatives from UNESCO Headquarters and the Korea Education and Information Institute. The meeting focused on introducing the digital future education field experience program, a follow-up to the ‘Future International Forum of Education’ co-hosted with UNESCO last year.
Expanding Global Talents through Digital Education
The visit was part of the UNESCO Headquarters’ ‘ICT Utilization Education Innovation Support 3 International Development Cooperation Project’. African education officials were particularly interested in understanding digital education policies and expanding international cooperation to foster inclusive global talents.
School Visits and Policy Discussions
Before the meeting at the Metropolitan Office of Education, the visiting group toured the Gyeonggi Eum-On School and Mountain Elementary School in Suwon. They observed online joint curriculum operations and customized classes using high learning. The discussions focused on cooperation in digital education, with high interest in the ‘High Running’ AI-based educational platform and infrastructure construction.
Superintendent’s Vision for Customized Education
Superintendent Lim Tae-hee highlighted Gyeonggi-do’s efforts to integrate digital technology and AI to provide customized education for students. He also emphasized the initiative to share educational content with students studying Korean abroad, alongside strengthening language education for multicultural students.
