Tennis: Bencic climbs again in the world hierarchy – rts.ch

-

Belinda Bencic appears for the first time in 4th place in the WTA world ranking despite his defeat in the quarterfinals at the Saint Petersburg tournament.

Only Ashleigh Barty, Simona Halep and Karolina Pliskova have collected more points in the past twelve months than the 22-year-old St. Welshwoman.

This week, Bencic will however have to defend 900 points at the Dubai tournament. Last year, she won the final after knocking out four top 10 players.

Leonie Küng (19) gained 127 places after reaching the final of the Hua Hin tournament. La Schaffhousoise is now 156th in the world and the fifth best Swiss in the WTA ranking.
