Possibly because the films do not seem to be able to give new life to a new film series, Skydance Media throws it with the Terminatorfranchise on a different tack, along with Netflix.
The streaming service has announced that they will be making a Terminator anime series, which will be written by Mattson Tomlin. The writer is partly responsible for the script of The Batman and wrote the script for the Netflix movie Project Power. Tomlin will also be the showrunner and executive producer.
Terminator to Netflix
“Anyone who knows my writing knows that I believe in taking big changes and choosing the heart,” zei Tomlin. “I am honored that Netflix and Skydance have given me the opportunity to approach Terminator in a way that breaks standards, undermines expectations and has real guts.”
“The new animated series will explore this universe in a way that has never been seen before. We can’t wait for fans to experience this exciting new chapter in the epic battle between machines and humans,” according to a Netflix boss from Japan.
The most terrifying killing machine in sci-fi history is back, just like it promised. Project Power’s Mattson Tomlin and legendary anime studio Production I.G are teaming up for an animated series set in the Terminator universe.
