The 2022 edition of Fespaco scheduled for February 25 to March 4

Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso), Oct 23 (APS) – The next edition of the Pan-African Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou will take place from February 25 to March 4, 2022, the general delegate of the largest African film event announced on Saturday, Alex Moussa Sawadogo.

He made the revelation at the closing ceremony of the 27th edition of Fespaco which is currently being held at the Ouagadougou 2000 sports center.

The Head of State, Macky Sall, accompanied by his wife Marème Faye Sall, joined his Burkinabè Faso counterpart, Rock Mark Christian Kaboré, and the Senegalese Minister of Culture and Communication, Abdoulaye Diop, at the ceremony.

According to Alex Moussa Sawadogo, festival-goers from 64 countries took part in this 27th edition of Fespaco during which 1,500 films from 52 countries were screened, for a total of 500 screenings in the various venues dedicated to the festival.

The general delegate assures us that for the professional Fespaco, “the objectives have been achieved”. Thus, no less than 32 communications were counted on the occasion of the conference entitled “ African cinemas and the diaspora, new looks, new challenges ”.

The 27th Fespaco brought together 1,500 cinema professionals and 1,200 media professionals.

“The party was beautiful and Ouagadougou deserves its festival”, rejoiced the general delegate.
